Mas(h)oor Dal Palak

Kopal loves dal. When I visited her a few years ago, she had made dal along with chicken, paneer & two other dishes for dinner. A confirmed non-vegetarian then, I relished the other items while the dal was consciously ignored. Later I heard her complaining to Ma, 'Didi dal nahi khaayein!' With the scorn of a mansahari I wondered who eats dal when there's chicken!
The clock has turned. Kopal has taken to chicken & I have taken to dal. Now I cook non-veg for the family & dal for myself! The Gods are smiling from above. And so is Kopal from Bangalore:)
